You Will Rise
Recently the effect of the fires of Eaton Canyon and Pallisades ignited within me to
remember what God did for us on Calvary. I looked to the scriptures, to all who mourn in
Zion, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning,
festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the
Lord has planted for his own glory. (Isaiah 61:3, NLT)
Life can be like a battlefield filled with moments of felling broken, defeated and surrounded
by the dark clouds of despair. But, God is working for our good and re-writing your story to
bring you out of the ashes into the light again. No matter what you have been through you
can rise again with strength, power and purpose.
God does not want to rescue us from our trials he wants to transform us through the trials.
The ashes of our pain can become the soil we need for new beginnings. I heard someone
say those who lost their homes in the fire that their property would be worth three times
more than original worth. New beginnings can become when we go through trials, it is easy
to cling to the past. Our failures, disappointments, or losses can hold us hostage if we are
not careful to let go and trust God through the process.
Be encouraged! Isaiah 43:2-3 NLT says, when you walk through the fire, you will not be
burned, the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of
Israel, your Savior.
Victory is not just what we hope for it is something we already have through Christ. No
matter what comes against us, we can stand firm, knowing that in him we are more than
conquerors. Rise up from the ashes and see your victory through Jesus our hope!
